Canteen

The canteen functions under the control of the P & C Canteen Committee. The profits from the canteen assist in resourcing the school library and providing educational resources and school equipment.

The school canteen is open from 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Friday when children are able to order for either break.  The canteen is also open from Break 2 on so that children may purchase over the counter items.
Menu items will change seasonally, however there is a strong emphasis on healthy options.  The current canteen menu is available on our school website.

Children wishing to order on Mon, Tues or Fri must place orders before 9.00 a.m.

Orders can be made online via www.flexischools.com.au or by paper directly to the Canteen in the morning of any day.  Children can buy fruit or bring apples from home for apple slinkies.  Kindergarten children buying recess generally go a little earlier than the recess bell at the beginning of the year, to avoid the rush.  Lunches are collected by class representatives each day from the canteen.  At the play bell at lunch time children with extra money to spend can go to the canteen to buy over the counter.

Chaplaincy Program

The Programme aims to support students through the provision of pastoral care services and the promotion of strategies that support the emotional wellbeing of students and the broader school community. Pastoral care is defined in the Agreement with the Commonwealth as:
“the practice of looking after the personal needs of students, not just their academic needs, through the provision of general spiritual and personal advice.”

School chaplains support the emotional wellbeing of students by providing:
      - pastoral care services, and
      - strategies that support the emotional wellbeing of the broader school community.

Pastoral care is defined in the agreement with the Commonwealth as the practice of looking after the personal needs of students, not just their academic needs, through the provision of general spiritual and personal advice.

At Richmond North Public School, our School Chaplain provides a range of support services for students, including Homework Club, Breakfast Club and the Rock and Water program.

NEWSLETTERS AND NOTES

Our school newsletter is sent out fortnightly.  Most parents receive their newsletter electronically, however paper copies are available on request.  Due to the interactive nature of our newsletter, there are many added benefits to receiving the newsletter electronically.  Our newsletter is produced by Schoolzine.
The easiest way to receive the newsletter is to subscribe using the app - SZapp.  This app can be downloaded via the Apple store or Android store.  Instructions on how to install SZapp, register as a user and manage your notifications can be found at www.schoolzine.com/szapp-installation
Notes will be sent home in both paper and electronic form.  When notes sent home require a signed slip and/or money to be returned to school, it is important to respond by the due date listed on the note.  It may not be possible to accapt late responses and this may result in students missing out on opportunities.

SENTRAL PARENT PORTAL

All parents have access to the SENTRAL PARENT PORTAL.  Through this portal, parents can notify the school about student absences, locate student progress reports and book parent/teacher interviews.  Parents receive a log in code from the school to set up their account.  Once set up, parents can log in via the internet link  - https://web1.richmondn-p.schools.nsw.edu.au/portal
There is also a link to the Parent Portal on SZapp.
