Leaving school early

Late arrivals and early departures are entered into the school records as partial absences. Late arrival or early departure, are only acceptable in exceptional circumstances.
Children arriving late are to report to the office for a partial absence slip prior to going to class. A note to explain late arrival should also be presented to the class teacher.
Parents wishing to collect a child from school early should send a note to the class teacher beforehand. Parents need to report to the office and collect partial absence slip. This must be presented to the child’s teacher when collecting your child.
Leaving the School

Please inform the Front Office staff if your child is moving interstate or transferring to another school in NSW.
Some important things to think about when leaving the school:
-
Please return any borrowed school property such as library books.
-
It is helpful to give as much notice as is possible so that personal items can be gathered and returned.
-
Advise the school if you are moving to a new residential address or if phone numbers and email contacts will change as we often come across precious can be forwarded to you.
-
Please inform your child's classroom teacher as early as possible to allow time to prepare.
Library

Our school library is well stocked with a selection of fiction and non-fiction books for students to read and borrow. In addition to traditional books, our school provides access to a range of e-books that students may also borrow to read at home on a computer or tablet.
Students participate in weekly library lessons where they are taught information and research skills and also have the opportunity to borrow books. Information on what day your child will have their library lesson can be obtained from your child’s class teacher.
The library is also open for students most lunchtimes. At these times, students can read, play board games or work on the library computers. To check what lunchtimes the library is open, please check with our Teacher Librarian Mrs Dreves.
Students can also access the library during class time to complete research tasks (with teacher permission).
Lost Property

Please ensure all personal property, including clothing, lunch boxes and drink bottles are clearly labelled with your child's name. Lost items are easily traced if named.
Unclaimed lost property is stored for a reasonable period of time, after which it is either used as emergency clothing or put in a Stewart House bag for the next collection.
